And the last in my catch up posts for tonight, last week a new short story from Seth Harwood’s A long Way From Disney collection dropped called Tuesday.
I left this one to last to write tonight because I felt that this was a story that needed telling, the events of that particular Tuesday have been lost and forgotten and twisted by the US administration (and I guess ours as well). The story moved me, I remember that day I was working in London and the news came down at around 14:00, my main memory of the day was refreshing BBC news all afternoon. I guess in the last six years I had forgotten all about the day and the immediate aftermath, this story reminds us that politics aside it huge event.
So yes, another great short from Seth, I was really digging these stories but Tuesday just took me away from the Adam Berkman universe and made me think back to my experiences - if you are not a short story fan but a fan of Seth’s give this story a listen, you won’t be sorry.
Anyway a couple of housekeeping notes, Seth still wants iTunes reviews, there is now a Seth Harwood Forum (see Seth’s site for details) and if you are in the San Fran area there is another Sigler/Harwood pub crawl on Friday
Also over the weekend the second chapter of Steve Saylor’s Black Shadow novel arrived and i finally got round to listening to it on my way to work this morning.
The story focuses on Black Shadow and his tracking down of BlackBlood
it was a short episode this week, which actually managed to fit quite nicely into my day – i am sure Steve did that to accommodate me… Seriously though it seems Steve is doing exams at the moment so best of luck with those Steve, I suppose one of the advatages of getting old is that it seems like an awfully long time ago that i had any exam and assignment worries…
So there we have it, the final chapter of the final book dropped this week. Yes JC Hutchins 7th Son trilogy has finally come to a close, my guesses from last week did not come to pass and there is a final last laugh for one of the clones
I know I am only writing short posts to get back up to date, but Hutch has created such a fantastic story here that I just want to thank him, and encourage you if you haven’t listened to any of the three 7th Son books go and look him up and get ready for one of the best books you will have read in a long long time
Over the weekend the seventh episode (I can’t believe we are 7 episodes in already) of Scott Sigler’s new podcast novel Nocturnal.
This story is great, I have no idea what or who Brian really is but can’t wait until Scott’s twisted mind reveals all :-0
So last week I caught the first chapter of MOREVI and we meet the Queen and find out about Rafe’s task
I loved this chapter it is really setting the story up, this weeks MOREVI is going to be delayed but it is in two parts so that is good news
I have been quiet for a week, Christmas party season is upon us and work has become insane again – I haven’t had a lunch yet this week but that is no real excuse. The posts to follow will be pretty brief but I figured I would split them out a bit, I will try to get back onto a normal schedule but it will probably be into the new year when things settle back down again
Overnight chapters 39 and 40 of JC Hutchins 7th Son dropped and I caught them on the way to work this morning.
After saying last week I thought the story had reached an end, I forgot about the loose ends, which where dealt with nicely, plus a nice dig at the 2000 Florida elections…
Well we are certainly coming to an end now, just one left to go (I guess) and I have my suspicions that we might be hearing about a couple of aircraft crashes, but we will see.
Also over the weekend the first episode of Steve Saylor’s Black Shadow dropped. I had already listened to the prologue on Seth Harwood’s feed over the weekend, but I caught the first episode over lunch today.
In this first episode we are introduced to Black Shadow, the stories hero and go back in time to when he was 5…
The story starts of well, and I am looking forward to future episodes – the novel is ‘only’ 50,000 words I am not sure how that translates into episodes, I would guess at around 12-15 but I could be way off base with that. Make sure you stick around to listen to Steve’s closing remarks, as he gives some insight into how the book came into being and nods to various podcasts that inspired him.
